We celebrated 12 years of Festival2Funky with a Powerhouse Celebration of Black Music, Arts & Culture
This year’s dynamic programme featured an exciting mix of music, dance, culture, and creativity:
- To Da Beat – a high-energy dance workout that got everyone moving.
- A hands-on graffiti workshop, inviting participants to express themselves through street art.
- The Too Fast Breaking Battles – an adrenaline-fuelled dance competition showcasing top-tier breakdancing talent.
- OUT On Stage – a bold and vibrant LGBTQ+ showcase celebrating identity and creativity.
- Acoustickle – a soulful night where Nottingham met Leicester, bringing smooth vocals and spoken word to the stage.
- An evening dedicated to classic hip-hop, headlined by the electrifying HipHop House Band.
- Multiple DJ events, keeping the energy high and the crowd moving.
- A special vinyl revival night, Tastemakers: Turntables & Screen, celebrating Black music heritage with a live DJ set and a screening of The Record Store & Black Music documentary.
Headline Performers included:
Terri Walker, Aleighcia Scott, Shanice Forster, Morgan Munroe, Dominique Simone, and the HipHop House Band.
