Artist Development Programme
We always end this project with a live showcase in front of a packed crowd and industry professionals. Artists also get their own CD from this project as well as wider performance opportunities.
Project live is an exciting artist development programme, led by acclaimed vocalist lisa millet.
Over 6 months, we work with 8 Leicester-based artists, across black music genres. including:
soul, hip-hop, reggae, grime, trap, R’n’B, jazz, Afrobeat and gospel.
We select artists through an application and interview/ audition process. Each year we receive a high calibre of talented local artists who are able to learn, develop and progress their careers through being on Project LIVE.
Past participants include: Strizzy Strauss, Queen Millz, Comprehend, Alice Kube, VerSay and Harri Georgio.
Through a programme of weekly sessions we mentor participants, giving them support. We also provide them with: rehearsal slots, a recording session at any chosen studio, and an array of masterclasses- from marketing to stage performance skills- delivered by guest speakers.
