On Sunday 20 August, The Leicester Mela Festival returned to Leicester City Centre.
It was an amazing turnout with people across the Midlands coming to celebrate a day full of spectacular Indian inspired arts, music, culture, food, fashion, and entertainment.
The famous Mela Bazaar took over the Leicester Market, with beautiful food stalls such as jewellery and clothes, as well as tasty food stalls from Tilda, mirch masala and more.
More stalls were located throughout the city centre such as Leicester Riders, Panahghar Helpline, University of Leicester and more.
Live music and dance were featured on the main Mela stage on Humberstone Gate. We had lots of diverse, beautiful performances including: Nupur Arts, The Dhol Crew, Meshi Sandhu, Chaines dance company, Rohit Vadher etc.
And at 5pm The Sabras Road Show brought more exciting performances, with their headline artist Sona Walia, supported by Daljit Mattu, Robby Dhanjal, Gopy Randhawa, Rajasthani Brass Band & BollyARKK Dance.
It was a great fun filled day for all the family. Thank you to everyone who came to celebrate the festivities with us.
