We provide programming for 2Funky Complex,
an independent venue complex home to
4 one-of-a-kind venues; 2Funky Music Café, The 2Funky Lounge, 2Funky Street Kitchen and The Lobby.

These four self-sustaining, Leicester based venues, specialise in music of Black origin and each venue has its own style, offering a unique experience.

2Funky Street Kitchen features pop-up street food events, influenced by Leicester’s diverse cultures, from the city’s finest guest traders.

The Lobby is the smallest venue which holds up to 50 people.

The 2Funky Lounge has 2 rooms, featuring a bar and rooftop terrace and holds regular club nights, perfect for large parties and live DJ sets.

Whilst 2Funky Music Café is a fully accessible, 350 capacity, independent music venue, based in Leicester. They run a variety of events such as comedy and dance performances, big name artists, local and national touring gigs, workshops, open mic nights, local up-and-coming music talent plus more!

Their programme embraces original live music and talent development across young vibrant communities.

Also, 2Funky Music Café have previously received Arts Council England funding through the Cultural Recovery Fund, in recognition of the value they bring to the local economy, tourism, creative sector development and arts participation.

This fantastic multi-purpose venue complex is located in Leicester’s West End, near Narborough Road- ‘one of Britain’s most diverse streets’ (BBC).

The venues provide performance platforms for emerging artists’ original new work and is a great space for us to hold 2Funky Arts project workshops and artist development training (Project LIVE) as well as project showcases (And Still I Rise), events (Take Off Music Masterclasses) and our annual Festival2Funky.

High calibre established acts who have performed at these venues include: Akala, Children of Zeus, Kabaka Pyramid, ILUVLIVE, Grandmaster Flash, Julian Marley, General Levy, Mica Paris, Blade, AZ and more.

In collaboration with HQ Recordings, we also held the most recent Leicester Music Conference (LMC) at the 2Funky Complex. This was an exciting event that brought together music and creative sector professionals to support the music, arts and media industries in the East Midlands.
