2Funky Comedy
2Funky Arts first ventured into the world of UK comedy in 2009, with an event as part of Leicester Comedy Festival at The Peepul Centre.
Since then, we have promoted numerous events, bringing comedians of Black, Asian and Ethnic Minorities to the fore, spreading hilarity along the way.
HIGHLIGHTS
- A staging of the iconic show ‘The Real McCoy’ at De Montfort Hall (2014).
- 2Funky Comedy Jam and Last Laugh, at Athena, featuring the likes of Richard Blackwood, Inder Manocha, Curtis Walker, Marlon Davis and many more (2011-17).
- Hilarious Comedy series at The Peepul Centre (2009-2012) featuring Ava Vidal, Annette Fagan, Toju, Romesh Ranganathan & Shazia Mirza.
- 2Funky Comedy Show at the Curve (Leicester) & Glee Comedy Club (Nottingham), with Will-E Robo, Kane Brown, Glenda Jaxson and Dane Baptiste (2014).
- Desi Comedy Club at The Y, with Prince Abdi and Jay Sodagar (2015).
- Wahala Comedy Clash at Athena (2015), featuring Will E, Slim, Travis Jay, A Dot, Ade and KG Comedian (Team West Indies battling Team Africa).
- 2Funky Comedy Jam at The Y, featuring Aurie Styla, Geoff Schumann, Kat Boyce and Danny ‘Slim’ Gray (2015).
- WILL-E one-man comedy show at 2Funky Music Café (Def Comedy Jam, P Diddy’s Bad Boys of Comedy).
- Comedy performances as part of Festival2Funky, including Dane Baptiste and Judi Love (2016-19).
