Project Live

Artist Case study: Sam The Rapper

Sam The Rapper, a UK rap, hip-hop and grime artist, was part of our Project Live artist development programme in 2026.

Even before joining the project, he had remained active in the music scene, performing regularly at open mics and local shows, gaining radio play and taking every opportunity to get his music heard.

Sam’s journey has always been self-driven, writing music inspired by real experiences, personal struggles, self-growth and things he’s still figuring out.

“I’m always looking for opportunities that can push me outside of what I’m already doing. Project Live wasn’t just another gig. It was months of actually working towards something far bigger, developing ideas, rehearsing and being around other artists.”

Sam wanted to be part of Project Live to learn, develop his skills and focus on the areas where he felt he needed the most improvement. He was keen to see what he could take away from the experience as a whole.

After months of hard work, Sam performed at our Project Live 2026 Summer Showcase, presenting live renditions of his music.

His favourite part was seeing everything come together at the final show.

“But I also really enjoyed the process behind it. The rehearsals, conversations, meeting different artists and watching everybody’s individual ideas slowly become one complete show.”

Sam is planning to keep building on this experience and push himself to perform at bigger shows. Expect more original releases as he continues to develop his music, alongside the visual and creative side of his work.

Make sure to check out his full performance, featuring his tracks Trouble (out now on all digital streaming platforms), Stop The Rain and Find My Way, both of which will be released soon.

“There’s plenty more music coming. I’m constantly writing, recording and performing, and I’m excited for the future!”
