In 2012, 2Funky Arts completed a two-year creative project, supported by Big Lottery’s Young People’s Fund.

This funding enabled 2Funky Arts to create and manage a temporary workshop space at the back of 2Funky Records, on Belgrave Gate. We engaged over 500 young people between November 2009 and August 2011, many of whom were NEET and from disadvantaged backgrounds.

Highlights included:

Masterclasses with big names such as Ras Kwame, Young Nate and MNT
Beats and Bars music courses
DJing with Kid J and Ian ‘Beatmaster’ Wright
Singing with artists such as Mellow Baku
Photography with Kajal Nisha Patel
ILUVLYRICS poetry project with artists such as Birmingham Poet Laureate Dreadlockalien
Volume volunteering project and the Heal Haiti benefit event.
