Radio2Funky Embraces Black History Month 2015
Slum Village from Detroit, was formed by three members: rappers Baatin (deceased, 31 July 2009) and T3, plus rapper and producer J Dilla (deceased, 10 February 2006).
2Funky Comedy Jam returned to Athena, in February 2015; back due to public demand.

Leicester act Base have been crowned official winners of Midlands Best Dance Crew 2013. Second place went to Nuvo III, of Birmingham, and third to Ruby Dolls from Leicester. This is the first time the urban dance competition has been staged in Leicester.

In Autumn 2012, 2Funky Arts ran Dance-abetic – a community dance and Type 2 Diabetes awareness programme. For 12 weeks, 35 local adults and young people took part in street & Bollywood dance workshops.
Hosted by Glastonbury Slam Champion John Berkavitch, this ILUVLYRICS slam was an evening of lyricism, poetry and spoken word magic, from some of Leicester’s finest performers.

Between July and September 2012, eleven young people from Leicester took part in workshops at Curve Theatre, with urban artist Bizzi, to explore themes surrounding knife and violent crime and write lyrics with anti-crime messages.
