Festival2Funky 2017

Festival2Funky 2017

Festival2Funky now in its 4th year was a fantastic celebration of Black music and arts, running from 22-28 May 2017. The established 7 day festival was based at 2Funky Music Café in Leicester’s vibrant West End. 2Funky Arts appealed to local MC’s, DJ’s, singers and musicians, to get in touch if they would like to take advantage of this platform, with £50 per performance available. There was also a hip hop dance competition, as part of the festival.

The festival encompassed Afrobeat, reggae, gospel, jazz, soul, hiphop, R&B, bass and drum & bass. Exhilarating live performances and open mic sets, across these genres, alongside masterclasses, graffiti workshops, DJ sets, urban comedy events, spoken word, after-parties and lots more!

A festival wristband was priced at £10 and allowed one person entry into the entire 7 day festival, with individual events priced at £5.

This festival was supported using public funding by Arts Council England.
