Call out to Artists and Volunteers

Now in its 4th year, Festival2Funky will be a fantastic celebration of Black music and arts, running from 22-28 May 2017. This is an established 7 day festival, based at 2Funky Music Café in Leicester’s vibrant West End. 2Funky Arts is appealing to local MC’s, DJ’s, singers and musicians, to get in touch if they would like to take advantage of this platform, with £50 per performance available. There will also be a hip hop dance competition, as part of the festival, and commissioning opportunities will be publicised in the coming weeks. Additionally, 2Funky Arts is on the lookout for people who would like to gain valuable experience and skills in the running of a high profile arts event, as volunteers.

The festival will encompass Afrobeat, reggae, gospel, jazz, soul, hiphop, R&B, bass and drum & bass. Exhilarating live performances and open mic sets, across these genres, will feature alongside masterclasses, graffiti workshops, DJ sets, urban comedy events, spoken word, after-parties and lots more!

A festival wristband, priced at a mere £10, will allow one person entry into the entire 7 day festival, with individual events priced at £5. A full schedule will be available in the run up to the festival, from To perform or volunteer as part of the festival, or for further information, contact Vijay Mistry at 2Funky Arts on
