The Real McCoy Comedy Show
The original cast members from the ground-breaking nineties series The Real McCoy took to the stage at Leicester’s De Montfort Hall on 29 March 2014. It was a night of side-splitting sketches and stand up. This nearly full-to-capacity show was the only one of its kind in the UK, put together by 2Funky Arts. The performance was always sure to bring back memories of comedy-gold for fans of the TV show. Our one-off Leicester date featured Eddie Nestor, Robbie Gee, Mr Frazier, Leo Muhammad, Curtis Walker, Judith Jacob and special guest star Richard Blackwood.
The Real McCoy aired for five series, from 1991 to 1996, on the BBC. Featuring some of the most promising comedy stars of the time, the show helped launch the careers of many Black and Asian performers who went onto do great things. Many will recall the bold, brilliant and often down right rude characters that poked fun at aspects of modern culture.
